I know that I've neglected my blog, and to my two subscribers I'm so sorry!
So, I went to the Paris Bistro located on 15th and 15th, before I start let me say that I went last fall for my birthday and loved it, and since then they've won "Best Ambiance" from "Salt Lake Magazine" for 2009 and did so without ever advertising with the mag or anywhere for that matter, so natrually I wanted to go back and for a special occasion. I'm just going to go from start to finish just so I don't leave anything out.
7:30 we arrived for our reservation and were seated in a nice booth, it was pretty much full, I've never eaten inside so I looked around and I thought it was really nice, I liked the way they separated tables with tall palms, it was a nice touch, right off the the bat though we were bombarded by the voice of someone two tables down and clearly from Long Island New York, now if you've ever heard someone from Long Island talking I compare it to scratching a chalkboard or any of the Eastern European accents, sorry! anyways, he was practically yelling his conversation and overwhelmed the dining room.
The menu
I tried to distract myself from the retard from New York by going over the menu, it's big with separate specials, wine, and wine by the glass menus. I'm not going to bore you with what was on all of them, just what we ordered.
We started with two glasses of champagne and the Calamari Appetizer, the champagne was great and I think it goes well with calamari. Well the calamari was grilled not breaded and fried which the server let us know (she was great). When it came out, it was 2 or 3 large calamari steaks covered in a pesto aioli and diced tomatoes, it looked like runny guacamole or throw up, it was like eating a shoe, really rubbery, but nothing I couldn't handle, I still ate it.
Second Course, I had the Salad Lyonnaise
(Poached All-Natural Eggs, Frisée, Endive, Radicchio & Arugula, Warm Pancetta, Mustard, Sherry Vinegar & Black Truffle Vinaigrette, and the Lobster Bisque, the salad was the best thing I had all night, the bisque was so bad, it was to the T, just warm clarified butter with lobster flavoring, it made me sad and drove me to drink more.
For dinner we had the Pan-Seared Filet of Black Angus (Laurel Veal Demi-Glace, Pan Roasted Sweetbreads and Porcini Mushrooms, Artichoke Gratin, Watercress) and the Risotto ai Funghi Porcini. I had the filet and it was cooked medium rare like I asked but I couldn't tell if my knife was dull or if the meat was just mad at me but couldn't cut into it very easily, and the sweetbreads (veal thymus glands) on my steak were over cooked, the artichoke gratin was ok. Now the mushroom risotto I'm not even going to waste my time on, it was soup.
Dessert, We had Warm Molten Chocolate Cake (Served with Hazelnut Gelato & Candied Orange) it was a nice end to the meal, granted the retard never shut up thru the two hours we were there.
Overall
I never did come up with some witty way to rate my experience so I'll get on that.
So the ambiance would have been really good except the retard from Long Island.
The food was ok.
The Service was Great.
Would I go back? Sure, if someone else is paying.
Where I'd rather have gone, Fresco or Cafe Madrid.

My Introduction
Well, I'm not to sure if I'll be the only one reading this blog, but if you're reading this and you're not me welcome!
Anyways, I decided to start this blog because:
#1 I love Food and Wine
#2 I love going out to eat
#3 Ted over at "City Weekly" is a Douchebag! (haven't meet him yet, but I'll tell you why in a bit)
#4 The Gals at the Trib like to review places like "Wingers" and "Crown Burger"
( I'm sorry but there are alot more Restaurants in Salt Lake and every visit is different)
#5 All that being said, I used to look forward to the City Weekly and Tribs Reviews, but now I just want to kill myself! LOL
This is my first Blog ever, and I think that most of the time we write with emotion, so this first one might be a little harsh or mean, but if you happen to know me I'm actually being nice.
So, back to #3, last year I got so sick of hearing about Greg Neville and Lugano from Ted's City Weekly bullshit that I emailed the Editor and Ted himself about how I think Ted's sleeping with Greg or getting paid because he'd mentioned Greg every damn week! Really!? WTF! After that Greg hasn't been mentioned once! I damn love it! I do like Lugano and I have nothing against Greg Neville, I was just over hearing about him. Also, the recent article Ted did about the "Wild Grape" Ted was "Wild" about it (that was original) anyways here's what pisses me off, I'm no Food Critic, I have no formal training, I don't know what you have to do to be one, I just know I love going out to eat and I love great food, I've been in the Restaurant Industry for over 10 years and all I expect is unbiased honesty about the reviews Ted and any "food critic" give. That's their Job. Back to the Wild Grape, Ted loved everything, the food, the service, the decor, what he forgot to mention was that he had them close off a section of the restaurant so he could enjoy his meal. Some friends of mine happen to be there that night and didn't understand why they couldn't sit down with a whole section closed for douchebag! How can this be unbiased review? Ofcourse he loved everything, they new it was him, we're all food critics, we all go out to eat and we all get treated the same and that's all I want to do with starting this blog. Honest dining in Salt Lake for people like myself who love this city and it's restaurants.
Enough about Ted, he's a douche, let's talk about me, I eat out 3 times a week, I have places I go regularly and everytime I go it's different, I might blog about it or I might not, but I should and I'll try. I like to try new places, places that have been around for years, I like to give the newbies a couple months to get into their groove. That's what I want to do with this blog with or without other people reading it, but if you do read my blog that's cool, I want to hear from you, good or bad whatever, just be honest, we all have opinions right?! LOL. Believe me! I want to hear about it, the good, the bad, and the ugly, take pictures too! You know damn right I'm going to, actually Inkley's just called and my camera is fixed and ready to go!
Anyways,
